The Amalfi coast boasts scenery like no other and Salerno is a great base from which to see it! While it is not as pretty as the other villages along the coast, it has its share of ancient Roman, Moorish and Norman history.  It has a beautiful old town with picturesque winding streets and a fantastic seafront with a wide, tree-lined boulevard. Sip limoncello and enjoy authentic Neapolitan pizza at one of the many cafes but don’t forget to try the culinary specialties – fresh seafood and pasta! Salerno is not touristy like the other villages so the prices are better and the locals are warm and friendly by nature, not just because they want your money.

While visiting Salerno, you can visit:

  • Positano

  • Amalfi coast for stunning scenery via bus

  • Amalfi Town

  • Paestum

  • Ravello
